About Envy Fitness

My Background

When I was at school I did everything in my power to get out of PE, I think this was down to the fact I was unpopular and always picked last for teams. How things change; as soon as I left school I started going to classes such as step and aerobics and absolutely loved the energy of them.

I grew up in Nottingham and left there  in 2001 to build a life in Ipswich. After finding myself a full time job, Safety Secretary at Ipswich Town Football Club (followed by Health and Safety Officer from 2007 onwards), my next priority was to find a gym. I joined Next Generation (now David Lloyd) and went to classes almost every day. I became known to some as "the step queen". Step suited me down to the ground, I love dancing and choreography and these classes hit the nail right on the head. In 2007 I met my husband, Aaron. He had always trained weightlifting at David Lloyd, I had dabbled with all over toning and gave weightlifting a bit more time until I was eventually hooked.

Onto the stage and a new career

We were lucky enough to visit the Mr Olympia show in Las Vegas for our first year anniversary in September 2010 and this was what inspired me to do what I do now, bodybuilding. I left the studio classes behind and began to train weights with Aaron. In 2011 I competed in three separate bodybuilding shows; placing 1st in NABBA Midlands Toned Figure qualifying for the Novice Britain Finals in the October where I placed 2nd.

In 2012 I embarked full-time into a new career as a personal trainer, Envy Fitness was officially born!  Whilst personal training is no longer provided, the gym remains full of life with both long-standing and new members.

Between 2011 and April 2015 I have been training and eating hard - I decided to compete again and on 26 April 2015 I placed 2nd in NABBA Midlands Trained Figure, a category I only ever dreamt of entering as I believed I would always be too small - the judges said it is 100% my category and with that I am thrilled at the progress I have made. So, now, into 2018 and in September I competed in Trained Figure with the PCA... qualifying for the British Finals in October where I am proud to say I was one of the top 12 British athletes in this category.  To say I'm thrilled is an understatement.

Health and Fitness is our way of life

You will see some photos of Aaron's transformation in my gallery of pics so you will know we both walk the walk and practice what we preach.Training and nutrition is a way of life for us and we both endeavour to pass that on to those that we meet if they have an interest in it.

We want our members to enjoy their training and the facility we provide.
